Auto refill terms of use

By accepting the terms of use, you can enroll in the automatic refill program (auto refill). By doing so, you authorize Optum® Home Delivery Pharmacy (Optum) to automatically ship your enrolled medication to you. You agree that Optum is not obligated to ship medication until full payment is received. You also agree that a delay in payment could result in a delay in delivery.

Once your medication is enrolled, you will be notified by Optum when it is about to be processed, is being processed and has shipped. Shipping and handling charges will not be applied to auto refill orders, unless rushed delivery is requested.

By accepting these terms, you agree that:

  1. Optum will not automatically enroll all your medications.
  2. Some medications aren’t eligible for auto refills, and there may be health plan or legal limits.
  3. You are requesting that Optum enroll you in an automatic refill program for the non-controlled substance and maintenance medications you have requested.
  4. To enroll in the auto refill program, you must also agree to receive pharmacy-related communications.
  5. Prior to the pharmacy dispensing a refill for a medication included in the auto refill program, the pharmacy will notify you via your preferred communication method as indicated on your patient profile that the medication is due and ready for refill.
  6. The pharmacy will reach out to your prescriber to request more refills when needed. Once a new prescription is received for your medication currently enrolled in auto refill, we’ll continue to send your refills.
  7. Where state law allows, Optum will automatically ask your prescriber for prescriptions that are enrolled in the auto-refill program. If there are changes to your medication, strength or formulation since the last time it was dispensed, you may need to re-enroll the prescription in the auto-refill program.
  8. You can withdraw from the auto refill program for some or all enrolled medications at any time by calling Optum, using the app, or your online portal.
  9. Auto refill program is not available:
    • For prescriptions submitted to federal health care programs for reimbursement, where prohibited by law;
    • Where pharmacy provider agreements prohibit auto refill programs; and
    • Where auto refill programs are prohibited by law.
